Abstract
The present study experimentally investigated which among natural pigments will work in creating an ink that has qualities similar enough to be an alternative for factory made inks. To determine which among the three chosen natural ingredients, which is Eggplant (Solanum melongena), Roses (Rosa rubiginosa) and Blueberries (Cyanococcus), will work. We conducted a descriptive research to find resources and data for further observation. The experiment has to be done by using a hands-on experimental approach. During experimentation, we can identify which among the natural components are practical according to its procedures capacity, identifying the pros and cons. With the boiling method, it takes a good 15 mins to 1 hour for roses and eggplants to be able to produce color which is then extracted. Meanwhile, the berries just need to be extracted. After the experimentation, the researchers undergo an investigation to differentiate natural inks to commercially made inks. Natural ink provides an opaque and translucent color that is readable and appealing from a writer’s perspective. It can also provide a long-lasting ink just like synthetic inks. Thus, natural pigments turned into an ink are a great alternative to synthetic ink. Given its qualities which exhibits a long-lasting and appealing appearance.
