An Assessment of the Food Quality, Nutrition Standards
And Pricing Strategies: Siena College of San Jose Inc.
Abstract
The Siena College of San Jose school canteen is addressing student concerns about nutritional choices, meal pricing, and menu planning. This study aims to assess the school canteen's food quality and snacks, aiming to answer the question "Why buy this product instead of that?" The Department of Education's policy on healthy food and beverage choices in schools and Department of Education Offices requires all food sold in the canteen to follow guidelines for healthy eating habits. Researchers conducted structured interviews to collect data on respondents' feedback on the school canteen, focusing on finance and nutrition theories. The study aims to align dietary guidelines with school policies, improve price ceilings, suggest affordable food choices, maintain high hygiene standards, and create a sustainable meal plan to improve school food quality.
