Introduction:
The flannel box promotes the development of fine motor skills, and improves physical and visual abilities. Collecting and sorting small objects will help him learn about sizes, shapes, and patterns, thereby developing his math skills. Children will use visual perception, known as visual processing: this is the brain's ability to make sense of what the eyes see, necessary for counting or discriminating between objects, and problem-solving skills and discovering similarities and differences between them. Sorting activities increase language taking an important role in the development of self-regulation skills and executive functions (problem solving, self-confidence, socialization, etc.).
Procedure:
Line the shoebox with the “butcher paper'' (A recommendation is to line the box only with the paper, you can choose the preferred color).
To make the dividers, trace with a pencil on the cereal box, measuring the height and width os the shoe box, leaving an extra space (2 fingers or about 1 1/2 inch) on both sides across the width (this extra space will be used to attach the divider unto the box). Fold the extra space outwards then check that the divider fits properly into the box, then place it inside the box and attach it using the tape.
Glue the black felt cutout (8 x 10 inches) to the inside of the shoe box lid with tacky glue.
Color the closet, the farm and the geometric shapes (using Red for the square, Blue for the triangle and Yellow for the circle, green for the rectangle) and Glue one image inside each of the spaces in the box. (there is no specific order).
Cut out the rest of the drawings (clothes, animals, geometric shapes), trace them on the felt and cut them out. (Only in the geometric shapes we will use the colors Red for the square, Blue for the triangle, Yellow for the circle and Green for the rectangle).
Cut out the drawing of the boy and girl, then Glue them using the tacky glue on the leftover cardboard of the cereal box and cut it out, then glue them again using the tacky glue unto black felt and cut them out. You can also glue felt to the front of the drawings so that the clothing patterns can be attached more easily.
Trace the child's name on the colored sheets, the first letter of the name in a different color and capitalize the rest of the letters in another color and lowercase then paste the name on the box.
