Introduction:
Ball game is usually a fun game, but it also provides many developmental opportunities such as; hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills, grasping skills, problem solving, language, balance and coordination, spatial awareness and object permanence, among others. The conceptual ball can be considered as a sensory ball (with a textured surface) which greatly stimulates the sense of touch, sight and hearing, especially in babies from 2 months of age. Simple activities like rolling, kicking, throwing are not only great for their development, but they also contribute to the development of their creativity, and critical social skill, knowing how to wait their turn, sharing and following rules.
Procedure:
Trace 1 pentagon on each of the fabrics (12 pentagons in total) and cut out.
Choose two pieces of pentagons and write the number 1 on all their sides.
In 10 pentagons number the sides 1, 2 and 3 as in the image.
Place the pentagon numbered on all its sides with 1 in the center, then place five pentagons around it, matching sides #1 and sew (only sides #1), repeat this step with the remaining pentagons.
Sew all sides of pentagons #2.
Check that the two sides (baskets) of the ball are completely sewn together on the #1 and #2 sides.
Join the two halves of the ball, sewing sides #3, leaving an open space to fill.
Fill the ball with polyfill and put the bell inside the egg (for the children's safety), put the egg inside the ball and close by sewing the open part.
Decorate the ball, sewing the sides of each pentagon with the yarn.
