Introduction:
Mathematics develops naturally in infants and toddlers and they use it to make sense of their world. Math concepts through the daily use of early math talks offer better opportunities to develop the foundations of early math that are so important to later math learning and in general.
Procedure:
Remove the label from the cans, wash and dry them.
Trace on the butcher paper 3 rectangles to line the cans, measuring the height and length with each of them and cut them out.
Trace the bottoms of the cans (1 circle for can) leaving 1 inch width to cut out of the circle and trim.
Cut tabs around the circle with scissors and tape the circle to the can.
Line the cans with the butcher paper rectangle and tape.
Line the cans with tape lengthwise until completely covered.
NOTE: The cans should be the SAME in color and design.

Variation:
To decorate you can use stickers of geometric figures, animals, etc. as long as the 3 cans have the same design.
