Time to try.... Pumpkin!

This month, your nutrition educator will be delivering dried pumpkin seeds for students to sample. Have you heard your educator, students or staff referring to this tasty snack as “pepitas”? Meaning “little seeds of squash” in Spanish, pepitas are pumpkin seeds that do not have the shell and are only found in some pumpkin varieties!

Did you know that a single pumpkin vine can grow up to 30 feet? It's no wonder that the pumpkin is the largest squash variety!
