Time to try.... Chickpeas!

Which legume is eaten by people all over the world? The chickpea, of course! Also known as garbanzo beans, chickpeas are thought to be over 7,500 years old. Chickpeas are a wonderful source of protein, fiber, folate and many more important vitamins and minerals. Fiber supports digestive health, while protein is important to build strong muscles. Folate is helpful in protecting our heart health.

Chickpeas can be found dried, canned or frozen and are available year round. Canned chickpeas are already cooked and can make an easy addition to a recipe or the main star of a dish. Check out this spicy chickpea recipe.
