Hello Thursday Families!!

Can you believe it's now Spring Break? Gosh, it feels like we just celebrated Valentine's Day and here we are nearly two months later and even closer to the end of the school year!

For our devotional, we watched a sweet video about Palm Sunday and Jesus' resurrection and talked about the well known Bible verse, Matthew 28:6, "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." Such a powerful and beautiful verse! This led to a discussion about how we each celebrate Easter and some of the family traditions that take place! I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter with your families!

PHYSICAL SCIENCE

We reviewed quite a bit today by going over Lesson 27, Microscopes, Lesson 28, Medical Imaging I, and Lesson 29, Medical Imaging II. Sprinkled in between Lesson reviews, we watched a very short video about Medical Imaging and one about ultrasounds being used to check the safety of bicycles! There were also discussions about who has had x-rays, broken bones, and ultrasounds; and we all chuckled when one student pointed out that the whole class has had an ultrasound before they were even born!

AMERICAN HISTORY

After our prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and Pledge to the Bible, we spent some time preparing for the 50 States Final Quiz by watching, (and for several students, re-watching), the 9-minute video that I shared to help students memorize the U.S. Map. Students also took turns labeling a blank whiteboard map by doing their best to label 2 states at a time. We then used the remainder of the class to take the States quiz!

IEW

After returning from the 10-minute break, and reviewing school announcements, I collected Part I of the IEW Spring Final Project (paragraphs 2, 3, and 4). We then enjoyed our class Easter celebration! Thank you families, for all of the shareable snacks that you brought! It was a great balance of sweet, savory, and healthy! Class was shortened in order to participate in the courtyard for Seder Meal.
