Hello Families!

Today's devotional revolved around Matthew 6:25, "Don't worry." We learned and talked about how God knows what we need and provides for us! And to seek the kingdom of God above all else!

We jumped into Physical Science by reviewing Lesson 16 on Pulleys and played a fun Unit 2 quiz game! Students were grouped into their table teams and then given 10 minutes to work together to complete their quizzes. All three teams finished under the time which allowed us to grade them and determine that we had a tie! This of course led to a lightning round, and ultimately Anna, Caleb, and Matthew earned an extra hole punch! Great job! We wrapped up with reviewing Lesson 17 on Kinematics, and 18 on Speed & Velocity.

American History was even livelier today as we went straight into another quiz game that covered chapters 5 and 6! Students were grouped with their table teams as we took turns going through the quiz questions. When a team answered correctly, they earned a point, and if they answered incorrectly, the next team was given the opportunity to answer the same question correctly or answer a new question...until we got to the True or False lightning round! Needless to say, it was an exciting game as all three teams were tied at one point, but team "New York Flames" with Kaia, Isaiah, Josiah, and Kaiden (each team chose their own names with regards to the original colonies), won! Following in a very close second place, after a short round of bonus questions, was team "Delaware Dogs" with Sophia, Hudson, and Erin! Way to go, teams! Today's class ended with a review of Chapter 7 and our closing prayer.

This may have been where the excitement of the quiz games hit its limit for our class today as I had high hopes for a fun and quick vocabulary activity in IEW, but somehow this led to some hiccups in the game (think pictionary meets family fued as there was a buzzer involved) that ended up extending past the allotted time. It was a bit unfortunate, and also a learning lesson for us all for future activities like this. That being said, we were able to have two students share their first paragraphs from their myth homework assignment (I wish we could hear everyone's that wanted to share!), before class was dismissed. This also meant that we were not able to cover as much classwork/review as I had planned for, which then overflows into homework for the week. Thankfully, we have such a wonderful class, and I know we will be able to catch up on be on track for next week!
