Today's Bible verse was "You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." ~ 2 Colossians 9:11. We watched a short video about The Parable of the Wealthy Man, and discussed how sharing with others also shows how thankful we are to God for all of his many blessings!

PHYSICAL SCIENCE

After I checked for vocabulary words for chapters 25 and 26, we went straight in to reviewing chapter 25, What Did We Learn questions! We took a short break from review for students to share their Egg Drop Experiments! So fun! This was so great to see the creative wheels turn and for students to share the enthusiasm from their results! We continued to review chapter 26 before we played our Quiz 4 Game! It happened to work out in a way that our two teams were the boys vs. girls, and the boy team won! Way to go!

AMERICAN HISTORY

After saying The Pledge of Allegiance as well as our Pledge to the Bible, I passed back Test 5 results before we reviewed Chapter 12 review questions. We then had a class conversation about our Thanksgiving traditions! Next, students were each given some stationary along with stickers (to decorate!), and a ziplock bag. They were asked to write a letter to someone who might find it 100 years from now, and describe what their Thanksgiving traditions look like. While they worked on their letters, they enjoyed some cookies and watched a video about Thanksgiving! I hope they bury their letters in their backyards (or maybe even a family member's backyard?) as we talked about in class!

IEW

We dove right into IEW with 2 students sharing their writing from this past week's assignment on Damon and Pythias. While each of the two students read their papers, we had two additional students listen for the checklist items! It's wonderful to hear the creative details and strong verbs that students are adding to their writing! We shifted gears a bit by moving on to Lesson 11: Neverland. After reading the Intro and Goals and Day 1, students were introduced to a new unit on Key Word Outlines as well as The Topic Clencher Rule. This new rule will serve as a great writing tool for students! We wrapped up the day with beginning the KWO, and then packed up our belongings in order to enjoy the Thanksgiving Potluck!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and I look forward to seeing you all when we return for class on December 1st! A couple of students shared that they will be absent on that day, and will be missed!

Many blessings,

Mrs. K
