What a treat to start off the day with Chapel in the Sanctuary! The worship team did a fantastic job of really setting the tone for an uplifting and positive day! Our devotional today was centered on the Bible verse, "Be still, know that I am God." Psalm 46.10. We talked about how we can "sit with God" and the different ways that can look!

PHYSICAL SCIENCE

The day flew by! After chapel (and our devotional & prayer) this morning, we got right into Physical Science! Students had the opportunity to grade each other’s Unit 1 Mechanical Forces Quiz from last week, and review Lesson 9, Simple Machines, before they were able to share their simple machine homework assignment from the past week. Our class was shortened in order to attend our first Patriotic themed Spirit Rally of the school year! So fun!

AMERICAN HISTORY

In American History, students had some time to rehearse/practice their skits with their groups before performing them for the class! The skits performed were centered on Chapter 3 of our history book, and needed to include Captain John Smith, Captain Miles Standish, the Pilgrims, or John Winthrop as the main character. They did a fantastic job working together, creating story lines and scripts, assigning/choosing roles, and re-telling history in a fun and creative way!

IEW

In IEW, a few students shared their paragraph that they wrote about the Trumpeter Taken Prisoner before we read and discussed The Four Oxen and the Lioness. We then reviewed adding and using -ly adverbs to our writing and examined several examples where students contributed their own -ly adverbs. This was way too fun hearing all of the -ly adverbs they came up with and really showed how much more interesting and descriptive it makes our writing! We wrapped up the day with reading The Milkmaid and her Pail, and ended in prayer!
