Roles & Responsibilities
In this formative task, you will have the opportunity to further develop and refine your communication and collaboration skills (Competency #1) in the context of our reading and listening/speaking/viewing standards for English.
• Read & tag the identified literary work(s).
• Review and reflect on tagged passages - identifying questions, comments, and connections you
made as you read.
Engage in Respectful and Meaningful Academic Discourse by…

• demonstrating an understanding of and respect for diversity.
Questioner: Presents a passage and asks an open-ended/thought-provoking question about it which encourages multiple perspectives.
Connector: Shares a passage and shares the connection between the passage and a real-life experience, other text, or historical event.
Summarizer: Takes notes during the discussion and shares a summary of key points at the end.
Clarifier & Challenger: Seeks to clarify points that may be unclear and/or challenges ideas being discussed by presenting a counter argument, using passages from the text.
