Mystery bus trip on Monday 26th May'25 was a most memorable, fun day.
The bus was full, and left Campbelltown Catholic Club at 9am. Guesses as to the destination was made as the bus headed off and went thru Appin, then down to Wollongong, where morning tea was taken at the popular Stuart Park & North Wollongong Beach. Exciting to see the parachutists come down and land right at the spot they had planned.
Leaving there the bus headed down to the Kiama blow hole. Bit windy, but the day was sunny and nobody complained. But where to next?
Passing by the beaches, the bus made a steep descent into Gerringong, where lunch was eaten at the Bowling club. Who could complain about the meal, all served to perfection, and just as it was ordered. Nobody! Some even partook of ice-creams of different flavours. Very hard to resist.
Again the bus took off, and continued south. The countryside was very picturesque, green grass with grazing animals. A turn suddenly found us heading towards Berry. To our surprise, the “Sweet Factory” was our next stop. Many were aware of this hideaway in Berry, but others were not. Invading the shop, lollies, chocolates, jams and other delicacies were purchased. Also attached was the dairy shop, where more ice-creams, milkshakes and cheeses added to the shopping list.
By now everyone had full bellies and suddenly the clouds came over and began to open up. Heading back to Campbelltown, we arrived right on 5 pm. The rain stopped long enough for us to get to our cars and make our way home.
8 lucky people won a $25 gift card, and 5 each won a large Rocky Road bar.
All agreed that it was a great day, with plenty of surprises, fun, friendship & fellowship, all included.
A great day out, thanks Linda.
