Lake Alexandra

Mittagong Picnic 28 January 2021

One could not believe the difference in temperature when members took a drive down to Lake Alexander in Mittagong. Two days prior we were in a heat wave, hottest day in 40 years. Then here we are rugged up like the middle of winter, but not being deterred from enjoying the sights of this lovely spot.

The ducks were friendly, as Chris can attest to as she was busy taking their photo. Being used to people they were gathered about the picnic group looking for some scraps of food, along with the birds. The walking track proved popular as it wound about the lake which had a water spout in full flow.

The flasks of coffee and tea were certainly a welcomed treat on such a cool day. Fortunately we had the foresight to bring sweaters, coats and scarves, and those blankets one keeps in the car for emergencies certainly came in handy. In all everyone agreed that it was a nice spot and definitely one that will be visited again.

Thanks to Linda for her words and photos.
