Fun Boat Harbour Cruise

19 February 2024

As stated, 'fun' it was. 38 members braved the predicted storm forecast to go on the Sydney Harbour for a cruise, lunch and general all round good time.

Surprise to see the state of the art cruiser that turned up at the Casino Wharf. Clear windows surrounded the boat and tables and chairs set up to accommodate around 80 passengers.

A trivia game started us off, and it was a lot of fun seeking the answers to general questions and songs. Half the fun was singing the songs that were familiar to everyone. Passengers were divided into groups and at the end our own “Sexy Sixties” came out as the overall winners. This was a group of 10, and they all got to pick out 3 prizes each. The little toy animals were really a big hit. Bingo also had us on the edge of our seats, and 2 of our group, Patricia & Tanya, both had a win. They also had 3 prizes each.

Bistro meal was tasty, with chicken, prawns, salad, pasta and dessert of fruit and cake. Tea, coffee and biscuits were also on hand to help satisfy those hunger pangs. The weather was not kind unfortunately, but we were well protected on the boat. Visibility became scary at one stage when it was impossible to see beyond the stern. What if another boat or ferry was about to hit us? All safe, as the captain knew where he was and we were well away from any other vehicle.

It poured as we disembarked, and many of us were drenched. However it didn't dampen our spirits. Everyone agreed that they had a lovely day, and, perhaps we could do it again!
