Loftus Tramway Museum

6 April 2022

"Despite the rainy weather, 20 club members ventured to the tram museum at Loftus. We started with a tram trip to the Sutherland end of the line and then back past the museum and into the Royal National Park. Strange the pleasure we took in waving to the traffic that had to stop while the tram crossed the Princes Highway!

Roger, the conductor, had a wealth of information on the history of the Sydney trams and many of the group had their own memories to add.

Once back at the Display Hall, Our guide, Tim, showed us the many and varied models of fully restored trams from Australia and a couple from overseas along with a double decker bus or two.

This museum is fully run by volunteers who obviously have a great love for trams and their history.

Our group then met at Club on East at Sutherland for a very enjoyable lunch.
