Mystery Bus Tour

Wednesday 19 May 2021

Weather was with us when we went on the “Mystery Bus Trip” on Wednesday, 19th May'21. Meeting up and boarding the bus at the Catholic Club car park, we left right on time at 8:30am. John was our driver and he gave a good commentary as we went along. Heading south along Appin Road, the first stop for morning tea was Sublime Point Lookout. Many had never been there before and being such a clear day, the whole South Coast could be seen quite clearly. As it wasVickii 's Birthday, Belinda surprised her with a cake which everyone was able to partake in also.

Next we drove up to Stanwell Tops lookout, then down to the Sea Cliff Bridge. Most then took the opportunity to walk across the bridge, picking the bus up on the other side. View was fantastic, and it was the first time the majority had done this.

From there a tour along Wollongong beaches and then a stop at the Botanical Gardens where a stroll through the park was enjoyed.

Back on the bus and then to lunch at the Wollongong Builder's Club. Serving 51 people all at once was certainly a task for the staff, but all was organised and everyone received their requested meal nice and hot.

Another drive around the lighthouse and Wollongong proper, then headed for Picton where afternoon tea was provided at the Picton Bowling Club. Lynne was the lucky winner of the $25 gift voucher that was supplied with remainder of money collected for the day. We returned to the parking lot at 4:40pm which rounded off a wonderful day and a promise to do another trip in the not too distant future.

Thanks to Linda for organising the trip and providing the editorial contribution. Also thanks to the many other members who provided their photos of the day.
