I Read Canadian Day is a national celebration of Canadian books for young people, with the goal of elevating the genre and celebrating the breadth and diversity of these books. This year’s event will take place on November 6, 2024.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Toronto (October 28, 2024)—The Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) is excited to announce the winners of its eight English‐language children’s book awards. Earlier tonight in a ceremony hosted by TVO’s Ainara Alleyne at the Toronto Reference Library, these books and their creators, were recognized for outstanding literary achievement.

November is Indigenous Education Month at the Toronto District School Board.
Throughout the month, students, staff, and community members honour a number of important days to deepen knowledge, to learn from our shared histories, and to strengthen relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples.
Treaties Recognition Week is the first full week of November, from November 3-9
November 7 is International Inuit Day
November 8 is National Indigenous Veterans Day
November 16 is Louis Riel Day in Ontario
