This week's virtual library tip - TDSB VL have created a Topic Guide to Forest titles available through the VL, school libraries, and more! Click "FIND" then scroll down to 'Topic Guides" Open "Forest of Reading" and then open "White Pine" to discover digital & print copies. 

Talking to Kids about Vaping

Even though you're competing against peer pressure and million-dollar marketing campaigns, research has shown that kids are less likely to get involved in smoking or vaping if they've discussed them with their parents. Media Smarts

We honour Martin Luther King on January 15th. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his momentous "I Have a Dream" speech from Washington D.C. in 1963. His famous words called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the U.S. Learn more about Martin Luther King, Jr here and in our resource document.

Tamil Heritage Month is proudly recognized during the month of January at the Toronto District School Board. This year, the theme for Tamil Heritage Month is Our Memories, Our Truths, Our Paths Forward: A Mosaic of Tamil Identity . See our Tamil Heritage Month resource document for more support. 

Family Literacy Day 2024 Theme: Let’s have a family party!

Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Since 1999, thousands of schools, libraries, literacy organizations and other community groups have taken part in the initiative. ABC creates free learning and promotional resources for anyone that wants to get involved.
