We  strive to achieve this goal through attention to Equity, Well Being and Achievement.

This week's virtual library tip - Curling up with an eBook this winter break? Don’t forget to visit your VL! Settle in with a story on Destiny, TumbleBook, or Capstone. En français? Try ProQuest, Pearson, or Crabtree. Need nonfiction? Visit Big Timber and PebbleGo. Happy eReading!

Morris Award The William C. Morris YA Debut Award, first given in 2009, honors a book published by a first-time author writing for teens and celebrating impressive new voices in young adult literature.  The winner is announced annually at the ALA Youth Media Awards, with a shortlist of up to five titles named the first week of December.

Co-Viewing With Your Kids - Tip Sheet One of the most important things you can do to raise media-savvy kids is to co-view media with your children. That includes listening to their music, watching TV, movies and videos together and playing the games they enjoy. While just being with them is an important step, this is also a great opportunity to help your kids think critically about the media they consume, by asking them questions about it and, sometimes, answering back.

We hope this newsletter will be a support to you as we read, research, and learn together at Lawrence Park C.I. Library Learning Commons.

Wishing everyone a safe and joyful holiday!
