Making

Student Library volunteers prepared over a thousand Black History Month cutouts for the LP community to record their reflections on following the BHM Assembly this past Monday. The Library Volunteers will post these reflections all along the perimeter of the first floor hallway. We look forward to displaying this visual representation of our collective and individual commitment to come together to celebrate and honour Black Joy at LPCI.

Building Empathy in Children and Teens - Media Smarts

It’s easy to forget that other people have feelings when you can’t see them or hear their tone of voice. Make sure kids understand that other players they interact with in online games are real people:

Our counsellors are here to talk about any issue and any feeling. Help with any hardship. No challenge too big. No feeling too small. Give your feelings a place to go. KHP is Canada’s only free, confidential e-mental health service that’s always open, offering young people across Canada a non-judgmental space to feel out loud in English and French.

The TDSB character trait for this month is honesty. We continue to emphasize that using information ethically and legally is one way you can exercise honesty.

We hope this newsletter will be a support to you as we read, research, and learn together at Lawrence Park C.I.
