After one of our LPCI students took part in the Centre for Excellence and Black Student Achievement Black Girls Book Club, and read a book by Julianne Mundel, we decided to invite Julianne to our school for an author visit! Julianne shared her experience of moving from Jamaica to Canada, the culture shock she experienced along this journey, and the barriers in racism that she faced.  She talked with our students about how she built her resilience and confidence to take that step to writing a book, and read passages from her book Come With the Fire!
