Earn community hours by working in the school library learning commons assisting in various ways to maintain the collection and physical space as required for the use of the school community.

As a library volunteer, you will learn many transferable skills:
Technical - working at the circulation computer, designing websites
Literacy - checking forms, reading instructions, making signs
Numeracy - shelving books
Interpersonal - working in a team, assisting others
Leadership - training others, taking on special projects
Communication - answering questions, creating displays, writing announcements
What are the responsibilities?
Take direction from library staff or from lead volunteers during training and while volunteering
Perform assigned duties as directed
Demonstrate respect, responsibility and reliability
You are role models for the school
No food or drink is allowed while the library is open and you are working
Attend information / training sessions as required
Accurately record your hours worked and follow your schedule
Initial beside your name on each week’s Library Volunteer Schedule
Check “TO DO LIST” at the start of your shift
Report anyone in the library behaving disrespectfully
Report anyone not following the TDSB Online Code of Conduct
