Engage, Inspire, Empower

Our goal is to support the success of our students, to promote a life-long enjoyment of reading, and to provide knowledge building experiences with 24/7 access to information in a welcoming environment that is conducive to learning.

We  strive to achieve this goal through attention to Equity, Well Being and Achievement.

This week we remind you to visit Days of Significance resource pages to support Greek Heritage Month.

The TDSB character trait for this month is honesty. We emphasize that using information ethically and legally is one way you can exercise honesty.

Research shows that reading for pleasure or recreational reading is a major predictor of academic success. We are happy to be offering students participation in the White Pine program. Please plan to participate.

March is Greek Heritage Month at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). It is an occasion to recognize and celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Greek Canadians to Canada, an occasion to mark and enjoy the history of Greek culture.

The Forest of Reading Award Programs are where children and young adults pick the winner!  Participants are encouraged to read at least five of the ten titles to be eligible to vote in April. This program aims to encourage a genuine and life-long love of reading among readers of all ages. A proven head start: The results are in! Children who read for fun have higher literacy scores, have more success in science and math, and are more socially and civically engaged (Reading for Joy, P4E, 2011).

Although this program was designed to help stop the transmission of incorrect information about Covid 19 , the messages hold true for the analysis and sharing of all information.
