Chinese New Year 2023 falls on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023, and celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival on February 5th, 2023. Chinese New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs: 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit; 2022 the Year of the Tiger. 

This week's virtual library tip- TDSB VL have created a Topic Guide to Forest titles available through the VL, school libraries, and more! Click "FIND" then scroll down to 'Topic Guides" Open "Forest of Reading" and then open "White Pine" to discover digital & print copies. 

Break the Fake: Critical thinking vs. disinformation People who share false or misleading information sometimes use the language of critical thinking and media literacy, telling followers to “do your research” and “think critically” in one breath and then to “trust the plan” in the next.

So how can we tell if we’re really thinking critically?

Family Literacy Day 2023 Theme: Celebrate your Heritage  Canada is a great diverse country full of different cultures. Take time to explore and learn about your heritage. There’s no better way to learn about your family, than together as a family.

As the days get shorter, the nights get longer & the temperature continues to drop, it is not unusual to feel a decline in our mental wellness. Our Winter 2022-2023 Well-Being Guide is a place to learn about Culturally Responsive and Identity Affirming resources and activities to make the most of this time of year while improving our mental well-being. Did you know the TDSB Winter Well-Being Guide has been translated into 20 languages? 

Canada Reads is back!  

Fifteen books made the Canada Reads 2023 longlist. The theme this year is one book to shift your perspective. (CBC)
