1 John 4:16
God is Love
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
John 4:24
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 3:16-21
God's Love
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
Acts 17:26-27
God is Near Us
26 From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
Romans 8:28-30
God's Goodness and Greatness
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
1 Peter 2:22
Jesus Committed No Sin
22 “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”
1 John 3:5
In Jesus Was No Sin
5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
John 9:20-25
Spiritually Blind
20 “We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind. 21 But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” 22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for already the Jews had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ would be put out of the synagogue. 23 That was why his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
24 A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory to God,” they said. “We know this man is a sinner.”
25 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
1 John 5:1-5 (NLT)
We Are Children of God, When We Believe in His Son
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. 3 Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 5 And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
God can hide and we can never see Him, if that was His way and what He wanted to do...God is infinitely smarter than us, so if He wants to hide from us, He can and has the ability to...But we can never hide from Him...God knows us and where we are and are very thoughts...He knows what we can see and can't see...He knows what we believe in and do not believe in...He created us...He knows what is in our very hearts...And it is the love in our hearts that is the important things in life...
There are small things like atoms and molecules that we cannot see...The are also feelings of faith, hope, and love that we cannot see...We feel tired sometimes and sometimes we feel full of energy -but we cannot see this tiredness or this energy...But we know these things are there, even though we cannot see these things...We sometimes see things and pass things, yet we have missed seeing them...And there are things right in front of us that we cannot see with our own eyes...
Jesus helped people, healed people, walked on water, changed water into wine, calmed raging storms, and helped the blind see -yet some would not acknowledge that He was the Messiah...He told the Disciples of John the Baptist that He helped the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy were now cured, the deaf now could hear, the dead were being raised, and the good news is being preached to the poor (Like 7:22)...Jesus was the Christ, and the Son of the Living God...St. Peter and St. John write that Jesus did not sin, but the Pharisees and the opposition of Jesus called Him a sinner...The Pharisees did not see Jesus' sinless nature, and therefore, did not see Him as the Son of God...Jesus was the Messiah that Moses and the Prophets wrote about...
There is more to God's hiding than us just not seeing Him...God is Love and God is Spirit...Think about seeing LOVE and Spirit...How can you do that?...Can one see their own faith, and the faith they have in different things?...God Loves our world and the people in it...We are His children...That is why He sent His Son to us...When you love someone (your spouse, your family, your friends) -you can remain and be in love with them and be hidden, in a sense...You can be gone or away (for long periods of time) and still love your spouse, your family, and your friends...You may not see your child or friend for years, because they have moved away, but you do not love them any less for not being able to see them...There maybe relatives that have moved and you have not seen for years, but that does not mean you do not love them...So love goes far beyond just seeing...Love is only love when it is shared in your heart with someone else...Love still can be shared in your heart, when one or ones you love are many miles apart... Love can be shared even when you haven't seen someone for quite a long time...
There is a special bond with children...And when and since we believe in His Son, we become His children...Then we know through His Son's teachings -it is what's inside our hearts that is important...God watches over His children and is not far from each of us, because of His LOVE...And we may think the God and Jesus hide, but do They?...
What we think of as hidden may not be hidden at all...Are atoms, molecules, faith, hope, love, and our energy levels actually hiding and trying to hide from us?...No, these are just things that were created not to be seen with our eyes...Do we see our love for our spouse?...His Spirit, His Love is just one of those things we cannot see with our eyes...So, if you believe that God is Love and your love of others then His Love is around you, then God is always not far from you -because His Spirit is able to be near us, working for the eternal good for us...Not just for the immediate and current good (because sometimes we will suffer and have troubles), but for this eternal goodness and infinite goodness that only He is aware of...This is God's Plan...His Plan is not made aware to us, but would we even understand it, if it were?...Eternity is a complex subject...
Jesus had to remind His disciples regularly it is what in the hearts that counts in life...We think it is best to judge those things we see and feel and make us feel good in the present time...It is those things that fill a pleasure or an immediate desire is what we think that really counts in life...This is not what He teaches...Jesus wants us to listen to our hearts...He wants us to keep our hearts pure...Jesus teaches us kindness, goodness, honor, humility, faith, and love...These things are good for the heart and keep our hearts pure...Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Matthew 5:8)...And Jesus teaches us about eternities...
The opposition of Jesus just could not relate what He did, what He said, and what He taught to God...They lacked a compassion, and a love for Him...Seeing and believing in God and His Son maybe as more about loving those around us, Loving Him and His Son than it is about us thinking that He is hidden or hiding...The more love we have and show and that is in our hearts, the less hidden He is...
