John 8:31-41
The Truth Shall Set You Free
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
33 They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"
34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father."
39 "Abraham is our father," they answered.
"If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41 You are doing the things your own father does."
"We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself."
John 17:13-19
God's Word is Truth
13 "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
Jesus did not seek power or fame or money...He did not seek earthly or material things...Jesus is not of this world...But He sought the Truth of all worlds...And so to follow the Truth and seek the Truth, He mostly spoke of God and of the Truth in His Teachings...And He was speaking the Truth when He said if you abide in My Word, you are then My disciples and this Truth shall set you free...He taught what He had seen in God's Presence, and this was His Truth...He said that He would be going back to God, but while He was still in this world, He would give His disciples full measure of His Joy...He asked God to sanctify His disciples with the Truth, because God's Word is Truth...By saying these things He has been in the Presence of God, He is telling us that there is This Divine Truth that truly exists...
Jesus was the opposite of lies and negativity and sin...But because He always spoke the Truth, He was not understood by His opposition and they misunderstood His Truth for them own truth and from the truths they had either experienced or learned from their families and fathers...While Jesus was knowing and teaching from God's Word, which is Truth...There is this Absolute Truth...
