John 14:6
Jesus and Truth
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 17:6-19
God's Word is Truth
6 “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
John 18:28-39
Jesus Came to this World to Testify to the Truth
28 Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” the Jews objected. 32 This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him. 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?"
John 8:31-32
The Truth Shall Set You Free
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Matthew 5:48
God is Perfect
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Bible is Inspired by God
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Bible is a book like no other book...The Bible is the most sacred and holy book about God...The Bible does not go about trying or on and on to prove that God exists...The Bible does not even make an attempt to prove that God exists...The Bible is written and is written that God just exists...The Bible presupposes and assumes that God exists and that certain people will believe in Him and certain people will not...There are basically two groups for God and the Bible -believers and non-believers...The Bible is a book that assumes itself to be true and the Truth...The Bible believes and says that God's Word is Truth...I think for the Bible to be true and have stayed true for many thousands of years, Something or Someone has to be unchanging...Someone has to be the Absolute Truth and has to be the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever...There has to be this One Truth that has guided the forty some authors who wrote the Bible...The Bible was put together over sixteen hundred years....And these authors over these years had to be reasonable men, to be logical men, and men who believed in the Truth and in God...
For one not to believe that the Bible is not true, then one must put themselves above God and His Book, the Bible...The non-believer has to put himself in a higher authority than God’s Own Son...One has to put themselves up above the Way, the Truth, and the Life –or at least the One who called Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life...They have to put themselves above the One who said He came to earth to testify to the Truth...They have to believe that the Truth does not set you free, and if they do believe this then they believe in at least some of the teachings of the Son of God...The authors of the Bible, I believe were very smart men, who wrote about God in their time and continued the story of God in their time, and were inspired by God...So the non-believer who tries to disprove God has to be able to put himself above God and His Son and even the authors who where guided and inspired by God..And this non-believing group also must have great knowledge, great reasoning, and know many, many things that are true and are the truth -to be able to write the text that would disprove God and disprove the Bible...The other side to this or the other approach and the written Bible itself is by forty authors over a very long period of time...All these men believed in God and thus wrote their inspired text and their books of the Bible...Could one man or up to forty different men write why they do not believe in God and put together another book that will last thousand and thousands of years to disprove the Bible and God?...
