To research and learn about 5 new techniques in art and then to create eight original pieces using these art techniques. I will be selling these creative art pieces to raise funds and donating them to a charity – Rajiv Gandhi Home for Handicapped in my locality.
The IB MYP Process Journal is a useful place to record information while working on all stages of the Personal Project. The student creates the journal in a format that suits his/her needs (scrapbook, word doc, blog, composition notebook, binder, etc.).
My personal interest in art has been developing since a young age. My passion for art exploring new techniques seemed more intriguing. I arrived at this goal by brainstorming ideas and choosing the best one. The more I observe the more I fall in love with each aspect of art. At times, it is also used to spread awareness on social issues.
Upon choosing a goal for my project, I have decided to learn these five new techniques: oil, charcoal, digital painting, soft pastels, hatching. I will create an art portfolio that will involve the use of these techniques.
Personal and cultural expression best suits my project and aligns with my goal because I will express my learning in a form of an art portfolio. The inspiration within someone to produce a tangible piece that includes the expression of their own learning, skills, ideas, thoughts, beliefs etc. Interpretation plays a key role in the definition of beauty similarly in art the global context states that the appreciation of the aesthetic and enjoying art is the defining factor of every art experience. ATL skills, global context, IB learner profile etc. were important in making my personal project successful. Throughout the course of my project, I found myself to be exhibiting the qualities of a learner profile. I also developed ATL skills during the project.
