To assist students in rural communities in attaining a virtual education which will allow them to continue learning throughout the period of this pandemic.
The IB MYP Process Journal is a useful place to record information while working on all stages of the Personal Project. The student creates the journal in a format that suits his/her needs (scrapbook, word doc, blog, composition notebook, binder, etc.).
The project was based on the pandemic that is currently going on, the goal was to attempt to provide devices for underserved families to allow their children to continue their learning process due to the limitations imposed. This project allowed me to enhance my ATL skills and IB learner profiles because it made me utilize my research skills, as the pandemic played a crucial role in blocking common methods of research and made me think of new ways to acquire the information I needed. My communication skills have also improved as this project required a safe way to communicate with the children without spreading the virus and also communicating with companies to provide devices at the discounted rates. It was also important to be knowledgeable about the current situations and red zones around me to make sure the children remained safe at all times. The main aim of this project was to ensure that the children got a fair and equal opportunity to continue their learning process through the pandemic and allowed themselves to develop their skills and education. These allowed me to maintain my focus on the project and ensure that I complete the project as many children’s education is dependent on this.
