To research and explore the impacts of mental health illness Anorexia on various human relationships, ages, and genders. Then apply this research to write, design, and create a book to showcase these impacts for all ages.
The IB MYP Process Journal is a useful place to record information while working on all stages of the Personal Project. The student creates the journal in a format that suits his/her needs (scrapbook, word doc, blog, composition notebook, binder, etc.).
My personal project experience has transformed me as an individual. The journey of exploration and creativity instilled in me a variety of skills and learner profiles, that helped me to accomplish project goals, form principles, work ethic, and identity.
At different instances from failure to rewarding success, self-management skills guided me to identify how to work and improve. This development prompted me to progress and stay motivated.
This project cultivated creative thinking skills, encouraging me to explore new ideas, make unusual choices and become a flexible/free-spirited explorer. This played a consequential role in achieving the goal to its maximum and explore it through perspectives.
I also observed the formation of larger learner profiles; that shaped me to become more perceptive, balanced, and responsible as a 21st-century citizen.
Profiles have been a result of my skill development. I learned to understand my ideas and thoughts in context to other inputs. Self-management skills like reflection aided self-assessment whilst learning to consider experiences of mine/others to evaluate strengths/weaknesses. I have become a more considerate person who acknowledges a variety of perspectives.
Balance played a vital role in sustaining my project. Without balance and organization, social, and affective skills, I wouldn’t have successfully progressed/challenged myself at different milestones. The highly complex nature of the project motivated me to balance different aspects of academic/personal life. Thus transpiring my goal into an achievable target.
The overarching concept tying this project together is the Global Context. This project falls under the Identities and Relationships, which explores “Who they are and what they are?” It brings out the interdependent nature of communities/various components that form and change identity. With this as the baseline for the goal, dividing it into exploring relationships between Anorexia and various demographics, how it changed identity/person. In a larger context, it guided me to observe more abstract and deeper connections in the world that define our global/diverse yet common humanity.
