I will develop my documentary skills by researching and creating a short film on the deadly impact of COVID-19 19 on people’s lifestyle.
The IB MYP Process Journal is a useful place to record information while working on all stages of the Personal Project. The student creates the journal in a format that suits his/her needs (scrapbook, word doc, blog, composition notebook, binder, etc.).
My personal project exhibited my global context which was identities and relationships. I built relationships with my interviewees, by speaking to them. This pandemic has changed relationships and identities. People’s identities have changed and people view them in a different perspective may be due to the fact they might have lost their job, lack of money and poor financial situations.
During the course of these, I developed skills that helped me in real life applications and problem solving. I set challenging and realistic goals mentioned above. I developed quite a few organization and affective skills
Being an IB learner requires you to have many traits. You cant have all but you can develop them through a course of a period, and that is what I did with my personal project. I developed the most in communicating, risk taking and being open minded.
When it comes to communication, I’ve communicated with around 30 people regarding my personal project. I’ve communicated with them for different reasons revolving around my project, information on COVID, how to shoot for a documentary etc.
Risk taking on the other hand is another intricate attribute and I felt I had the most development in this attribute. My goal was itself challenging and the pandemic made it even harder. I was working completely alone and I kept exploring new paths and thought of what I could add to my project to make it more enthralling and captivating.
