The goal of my personal project is to help a 20-year-old autistic individual with language and communication difficulties learn via pre-set basic social questions.
The IB MYP Process Journal is a useful place to record information while working on all stages of the Personal Project. The student creates the journal in a format that suits his/her needs (scrapbook, word doc, blog, composition notebook, binder, etc.).

After going through the spectrum of global contexts (namely: Identities and Relationships, Orientation in space and time, Personal and cultural expression, Scientific and technical innovation, Globalization and sustainability, Fairness and development.) I decided to choose Identities and relationships as a global context for my personal project. The global context that I have chosen is Identities and relationships. This relates to my Personal Project as an inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social, and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human. My project relates to this as mental health plays an immense role in my project. I am helping my autistic friend develop some functional skills. He has a difficulty in the area of language and communication and that is why I would like to help him acquire these basic communication skills.
