The events below recount some major events in the history of the world of Secret Wars.
Note that history tends to be written by not just the victors, but the survivors. Civilizations that were snuffed out due to calamity leave behind few traces of their history beyond artifacts. And European colonialism was a global calamity that snuffed out civilizations across the globe, and left their histories and legends lost to time. If this history appears Eurocentric, it is not because important events weren't happening beyond the borders of Europe and the Mediterranean but because these events have been lost to time, remembered in oral traditions that are not widely studied by modern scholars of the occult.
The Flood occurs, sinking Atlantis and destroying the great human civilizations of that age. Magic is twisted, and many artifacts and spells stop functioning. Time becomes twisted around the Flood, and it becomes impossible to see beyond the receding of the waters.
