Genesis 5:1-6
Adam to Seth
1 This is the written account of Adam's line.
When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. "
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived 930 years, and then he died.
When God created Adam, He made Adam in His likeness...God had created Adam is His image...
When Adam has Seth...Genesis author, Moses, tells us that Seth is born in his (Adam's) likeness...We are not told of this likeness with Adam's first two sons, Cain and Abel...We know man will have all the frailties of life and be subject to sin...
Moses also tells us "at that time (after Seth has a son, Enosh) man begins to proclaim and call on the name of the LORD" (Genesis 4:25)...
Just a short time ago, man (Adam) was immortal... Adam and Eve became mortal when they touched the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden...The tree of the knowledge of good and evil...
Of all His creations, God made man special...God blessed Adam and Eve...Our LORD put humanity above the plants, animals, and every living creature...Humanity alone was made is His image...
