You Make Know to Me the Path of Life
11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
When God created the earth, I do not think He wasted much of anything...Everything He did was Supremely efficient...I believe God created the world in this very organized way...so embedded and understood in His creation are organization, efficiency, and this optimal design...A creation without waste, with no careless order, or the use of things of matter being misused...Nature and the universe are optimum systems...I believe God designed the universe with these optimum laws and patterns, and repeating patterns and design...And in these repeating patterns and optimum design, He gives the world its order...And with its patterns and the designs of the earth and universe, He finely tuned the earth so that man could live and thrive on our planet...
When God created us, He created us in His Image...What does that even mean?...It is a great statement to study...Since He made us in His Image, there is this great connection between mankind and our Creator, God...
In the middle of God's design of the earth and universe, He created man in His Image...And He gave man the ability to think, have emotions and feelings, have sensations, and through these processes He gave us knowledge and the ability to reason logically...This is the way we are...Now whether the ability to think, have feelings and sensations, gather knowledge, and to reason is the Image of God is only a guess, but I do believe that is how God has created us...And as a part of us, is that we have different desires...And most if not all of our desires are experienced in this world...But for me, I do feel I have this desire for God...I want God, and I want to have faith that God created the earth and the heavens and that He made us in His Image...And He made the planet earth for us...
C. S. Lewis said, "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."...So Lewis argues that He to and others have this desire to seek and find a Creator...This desire cannot be satisfied by just living on earth...And if you believe Lewis, then you can see that we have a desire for God, and this desire to believe in Him...But also, years before Lewis wrote this statement on desire, one of our Great Saints wrote this about God and creating man in His Image, “You have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless, until they can find rest in You.”...We have this longing for our Creator, according to St. Augustine...We have this want for God...Despite our sinning ways and our short life on earth, we want to believe that He exists, and we want to praise Him for what He has done...Why else would we seek and desire Him?...We want to be with Him...
I believe God has put His LOVE in our hearts and that somehow ever so gently it is LOVE that guides us...This LOVE leads us toward His Son...This LOVE also leads us towards the Truth...The two desires we are looking for and seeking are His LOVE and His Truth...And through the Holy Spirit we are guided ever so gently in His direction, with this desire leading us along our path in life towards Them...It is the path toward Them, to the eternal pleasures of Heaven...
