Genesis 1:1-31
The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
When God created the heavens and earth, He said that He saw good in the world He created...It is written in Scripture that And God saw that it (Creation) was good...So in the beginning the believer sees that there is goodness in the heavens and earth, and in the universe God Created...And when God had finished Creation it is written that God saw all that He had made, and it was very good...So believers know that there is Goodness in the heavens and earth...So Goodness and LOVE have always existed and on earth Goodness and LOVE has been here since the beginning...
And because Goodness exists from Creation, Morality exists...We see that God is a Moral God by Him giving us the Ten Commandments...There is a right and a wrong, and a big difference in the two...There is both good and evil in the world...There is LOVE and their is hate in the world...If one does not believe in righteousness, or goodness, or love in the world why be a good man, why not just be evil, if one can express all the evil in their heart...Let us hold goodness in our hearts and let us love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law...For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”...Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law...God wants us to follow His Commandments (all of them) and His Son's Teachings...And Jesus said they are summed up in loving God and loving neighbor...The Bible hangs on these two commandments...
So let us believe in the Holy and Sacred love, joy, kindness, faith in God and His Son, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, self-control, forgiveness, mercy, hope, and justice...Our souls need these Great Virtues...These Virtues give us a Lamp for our feet to journey through life...These are the Great Virtues of life and help us get through the good and bad so we can have an abundant life...
Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian Evangelical Lutheran priest and professor of Jewish descent, knew of faith, morality, goodness, forgiveness, helping others, and love -the Teachings of Jesus...He wrote the book Tortured for Christ...Tortured for Christ chronicles Richard Wurmbrand's harrowing story of capture and torment by Communists while living in Romania during the Soviet invasion...In Tortured for Christ, he wrote, “It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners...It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating...A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their [the communists' ] terms...It was a deal; we preached and they beat us...We were happy preaching...They were happy beating us, so everyone was happy.”...He also wrote the Midnight Bride and said, “Prison is one of the places where we should look for Him...I remember a Good Friday in a cell in the Romanian jail of Jilava...We were all very hungry...But that day when the bowl of gruel was brought to us, we refused to eat it...We fasted...Good Friday is the only fast day described by the LORD Himself: “But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast” (Matthew 9:15)...Days of fasting, with deep repentance for our past sins and ardent prayers for the persecuted, are the greatest gifts anyone can give to members of the underground church and the missions that help them.”...
Theologian William Lane Craig wrote about if God and goodness do not exist in this world, and what kind of world it would be...He writes, “...if God does not exist and there is no immortality, then all the evil acts of men go unpunished and all the sacrifices of good men go unrewarded...But who can live with such a view?...Richard Wurmbrand, who has been tortured for his faith in communist prisons, says, "The cruelty of atheism is hard to believe when man has no faith in the reward of good or the punishment of evil...There is no reason to be human...There is no restraint from the depths of evil which is in man...The communist torturers often said, 'There is no God, no hereafter, no punishment for evil...We can do what we wish.'...I have heard one torturer even say, 'I thank God, in whom I don't believe, that I have lived to this hour when I can express all the evil in my heart.'...He expressed it in unbelievable brutality and torture inflicted on prisoners."...And Dr. Craig adds, “The point is that if there is no God, then objective right and wrong do not exist...As Dostoyevsky said, “All things are permitted.”...
