Genesis 2:15-17
The Garden of Eden
15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”
Matthew 7:13-14
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
From the very beginning God has given us rules...He wants us to know right from wrong by giving us rules to live by...Rules are not always easy to follow...And sometimes He disciplines us...
When we always do what we want to do, that is easy, but can cause problems...Can you imagine a boss allowing each employee to come into work when they feel like it, and the chaos it would be for the company?...Rules are necessary at work and necessary to live by...Always following your own rules, without God or your neighbor in mind, will in the long run cause you some problems...And Jesus told us it is easy to follow our own set of rules, but much tougher following the narrow gate and narrow road of God's will...And when we don't follow His rules, that can lead us into destruction...
