Genesis 1:26-30
Mankind is Made in God's Image
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Through Jesus all Things Have Been Made
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Mankind has been given the great ability to be logical and to be reasonable in our thinking...The brain was designed for the purpose of thinking...The theist believes that God has created this way...We are created from a Creative Mind and in His Image...God has given us a mind of logic and the ability to think things out and to be reasonable...The atheist must believe that man's mind has evolved over time and reason and logic followed...So the first man, would not have been a logical or reasonable creature...This is because the atheist believes we have come from nothing...In fact, the atheist believes we have evolved from a one-celled creature to a logical and reasoning creature which we are today...And also there are other intangible-type things that have evolved according to the atheist...Why do we have to feel safe and protected throughout our entire lives?...Things such as the purpose of life, ethics and morality and these other things like feeling safe and protected lead me and my thoughts to God...There is a basis and a background for logic and reasoning...
For these thought process type things to evolve in the mind of man over a period of millions of years brings forth an interesting discussion...When St. John writes that all things are made through Jesus, I believe that this includes the thought process and how we think...And through our thoughts we can seek Him, and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him...
C. S. Lewis said this about the thought process and being logical and reasonable...Lewis seems to say that without God can we even trust our own thinking and our own thoughts...And although we do not always think logically and reasonable immediately, man does get to logic and reason after some reasonable thoughts...Lewis says, "Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind...In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking...It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought...But, if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true?...It's like upsetting a milk jug and hoping that the way it splashes itself will give you a map of London...But if I can't trust my own thinking, of course I can't trust the arguments leading to atheism, and therefore have no reason to be an atheist, or anything else...Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God...
In life, we have to feel safe and protected...If one grows up and feels the world is not a safe place to live they will grow up being anxious, feeling threatened, having many negative thoughts, and being depressed...God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit provide us with their attributes of feeling safe and protected...To feel safe and protected are minds need to be at peace and positive...Believers live on the hope that God will protect us...I believe that God is the most peaceful, safest, most positive force in the universe, and has the most creative mind behind all things...
