Teacher at George Mason High School from 1974 to 1988

Created a National model for Family Life Education programs

Offered courses for parents as well as students, emphasizing self esteem and values in addition to biology

Received Washington Post Agnes Meyer Teacher of the Year award in 1984

Left teaching in 1988 to pursue national and international lecture tours that encouraged respect for oneself and others in the context of family life and sex education

Elected Vice President of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists

Honored by Planned Parenthood with the Mary Lee Tatum Award, given to educators who exemplify the qualities of the ideal sexuality educator

Youth coordinator for Falls Church Presbyterian Church

Left a profound positive impression on the students that she taught and the community that she served
