The Horrible Truth

The horrible truth came to me today unbidden

That everyone's responsible for their own condition,

Imprisoned in a glass cage of their own decisions,

A secret that's no secret thoroughly hidden

By the convolutions of a script self-written,

By one's own hand cast as hero or villain,

A plot by improbable motives driven

Upon the shoals of self-imposed perdition.
