The greatness of any single man

Is never solely his but also ours

For no hero ever stands alone

And the hearts of many ever fuel his power.

Think when next some great man's lifted up

And his name or art or wisdom borne through time,

Whose willing shoulders bore him thus

Whose support if 'twere not thine and mine?
