Tree of Dreams

Seems to me if we want a better world

And a planet fit for human beings,

We should see the flag of art, not war, unfurled

And rehabilitate the artist and his dreams.

For art is creation and most native to the spirit,

To make existence art our finest enterprise

And art's resurgence takes the culture with it,

Nourishing our tree of dreams so that it thrives.

A hundred artists in concert working could contrive

A new Renaissance burgeoned in our time

And fueled by fresh ideas the upward drive

Could burnish this world of Man until it shines.
