What's the product of government?
No-one's ever stated it,
Nor set a goal to motivate the nation.
No wonder then the directionless,
Kicked-in-the-head, brain-dead state of it.
Government never falls short of expectation
Because there's none to start with,
The timetable has no schedule
Or destination, no yardstick that guages
The failure or success of it.
And so we stumble from crisis to crisis
While leaders plaster platitudes like graffiti
Over the walls of PR-as-governance,
The chaos of rule-by-dismay
And get away with it.
