Sue Randle

I am a painter living and working in Romney Marsh, Kent, in a number of media and on a varied range of subjects.

I’ve been working on an ongoing series of paintings which explore my personal response to the natural processes of decomposition and regeneration.

My subjects include abandoned farm machinery, old railway rolling stock and the vestiges of the fishing and farming industries on Romney Marsh and Dungeness, essential and beautiful tools of once thriving economies becoming invaded by organic influences and largely disregarded and passed over in the environment.

Many of the conventions of expressionism and futurism may be seen in my work, but I prefer to think of it as without precursors or precedents.
