Backstory

Behind each man's living drama his own backstory lies

Of the loves and hopes and dreams he left behind,

Of the wrongs he did and the wrongs has received,

Wherein he's oft the deceiver been and oft as well deceived,

So sit in judgement not 'pon the foibles you perceive

Nor submit to petty hates in blindest haste conceived,

For you no inkling have of where they've been

Along time's track, nor the sorrows they have seen.

There's a history to each being by no hand writ

A secret vast yet hid so none can see one jot of it.

We all have a backstory that makes us who we are,

That stretches back through time yet few can guess how far.
