In May 2022 the Chongqing-based firm Dawa Future (Chongqing) Imaging Technology Co., Ltd. (达娃未 来(重庆)成像科技有限公司) gained recognition for digital technology innovation. A few months later, at the August 2022 Smart China Expo in Chongqing, Yongchuan’s Dawa Future showcased an immersive metaverse experience: visitors rode a motorcycle through a virtual dinosaur world using extendedreality technology.
In April 2024 Chongqing projects began using digital-human technology. A medical memorial project created a digital avatar of a deceased doctor to allow family members a form of virtual reunion. Also that month, Aizhuanxing Digital Human (艾专行数字人) launched a WeChat Mini Program offering around-the-clock AI “transformation” services for businesses across seven application scenarios. In June 2024 Chongqing Broadcasting unveiled a new XR (extended reality) news studio as part of its move toward intelligent media production, embedding AI and digital-human capabilities in its content pipeline. By July 2024 the city’s Sci‑Fi Film Week featured Chongqing’s first virtual idol performances, with live motion-capture performances by AI‑driven virtual characters at the Yongchuan Sci‑Fi Film Base.
In January 2025 Shiyou Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (世优科技（北京）有限公司) helped Chongqing’s Yongchuan District organize a “Dragon Year” Spring Festival gala that incorporated virtual digital humans and interactive AI broadcasting. In February 2025 Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College began integrating synthetic digital-human instructors into premium AI courses using Polyv’s technology. In March 2025 MDL Art Technology Co., Ltd. (魔导力科技有限公司) announced that its AI “Xiao Yu” digital human, tuned to ByteDance’s DeepSeek model, would be used for interactive sports tourism promotion in Chongqing. Also in March, the Chongqing Technology Transfer Research Institute (重庆市技术转移研究院有限公司) guided Chongqing Sugu Information Technology Co., Ltd. (重庆速谷信息技术有限公司) to launch Chongqing’s first “DeepSeek Live Digital Human” platform.
In April 2025 Chongqing’s Sugu Information Technology introduced a WeChat Mini Program powered by its “Aizhuanxing” digital human to provide 24/7 AI interaction services. That month Chongqing Yuzhong District Party Secretary Xie Dong visited local digital content companies, including developers of virtual humans and related media. In mid-April the Chongqing Judicial Bureau’s Nanan office began using an AI digital human named “Feier” to record anti-drug education videos, integrating the avatar into rehabilitation programs. On 18 April Chongqing’s Jiulongpo District published a recruitment announcement featuring a digital human spokesperson delivering the message.
In May 2025 Chongqing Television’s Digital Cultural Creative Base (重庆卫视数字文创基地) launched a platform for virtual cultural tourism imaging, promoting metaverse and digital-human projects. During Chongqing Science and Technology Week (May 2025) a live “GRASP Tech AR Virtual Live Studio” demo showed software that captures a person’s actions and voice and generates a real-time digital human avatar.
In June 2025 Chongqing Jiaotong Vocational College held an “AI + Education” seminar highlighting a police-themed digital human “Anbao” in classroom settings. On 14 June 2025 the Legal Daily published a Chongqing case study on “digital humans” and portrait rights, cautioning against fraud from AI-generated avatars. On 17 June 2025 the Baidu City Conference in Chongqing featured presentations on Baidu’s “digital human live streaming team” solutions for SMEs. At the end of June 2025 the Yuzhong District government issued a notice encouraging scenic areas to adopt holographic projection, nakedeye 3D displays, and digital-human guides as part of a new software and IT development plan.
In July 2025 AI and virtual-human technology featured prominently in Chongqing cultural events. On 6 July 2025 the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in Chongqing included an AI technology exhibition where digital humans, virtual filming, motion capture and other technologies were showcased as film tech highlights. On 11 July 2025 CloudWalk Technology (云从科技) announced that its new “Intelligent Agent Platform,” which embeds digital-human capabilities, was selected for Chongqing’s official AI demonstration list, establishing benchmarks for industrial upgrades with AI-driven human-computer interaction. On 21 July 2025 the Chongqing Fire and Rescue Corps released a tender for procuring an AI digital human service system for its operations. On 22 July 2025 Chongqing Daibai Technology Co., Ltd. (重庆大白科技有限公司) launched a mobile app called “Koubo AI Digital Human,” enabling users to generate AI-synthesized digital-human videos. Also in late July, Chongqing’s National Book Fair used artificial intelligence and virtual-human displays to create immersive interactive reading exhibits.
In August 2025 Chongqing’s Tongliang District held an “AI Empowerment” campaign to build core Digital Chongqing capabilities, which featured digital human broadcasting and metaverse-enabled meeting rooms.
In September 2025 the annual World Smart Industry Expo (Chongqing’s renamed Smart Industry Expo) showcased many AI applications. Notably, at the iFlyTek (科大讯飞) exhibition booth a fully mobile “transparent” digital human was on display. This AI-driven robot used a transparent OLED screen and multimodal interaction to converse with visitors, drawing crowds around it. This mobile interactive digital human assistant – capable of autonomous movement and real-time dialogue – became one of the expo’s most talked-about demonstrations, highlighting how Chongqing’s tech events have embraced AI-powered virtual humans.
