Oscar Andrew Garcia

On April 23rd, 2017 Oscar Andrew Garcia, 18, was killed in the 100 block of Cypress Avenue of Monrovia, Ca. At about 11:36pm on this date, Oscar was at female friend’s house with one other male friend and they were hanging out in the garage. At this time, a Latino man in his early 20s walked in through a door of the garage. The man was as light skinned, about 6 feet tall, with black short hair, brown eyes, a goatee and a black baseball hat. After a brief verbal exchange, the suspect began to shoot. Both Oscar and his friend were hit and while his friend was able to survive, Oscar was pronounced dead in the garage at 12:07am.

Detectives are seeking any information that you might have since they are not sure what the possible motive was. They do not believe the three were actually targeted.

Oscar was a senior in High school at Canyon Oaks High School, and was striving to be a photographer. He also played soccer for the school, loved skateboarding, and after high school he planned on going to Pasadena City College and study photography.
