Erik Lamberg

On May 29, 2013 the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office received a call telling them that Erik Lamberg had been staying in the area and they had not been able to talk or get in touch with him since May 26, 2013.

Erik Lamberg was from Hermosa Beach, CA and in 2013 was 51 years old, 6 feet 5 inches tall, 200 pounds, with light brown hair and blue eyes. He was believed to be driving through the Mendocino area on his way to Oregon. On May 26, 2013 Erick Lamberg’s car broke down in Leggett, CA. He was driving a silver 2004 Honda Odyssey. It was towed to Laytonville, CA and he stayed two nights there at a local motel while it was being repaired. He called his family to tell them about his car and to let them know he was “fine.” This was the last time his family heard from him.

Mendocino County Deputies confirmed that Erik Lamberg’s vehicle was towed and repaired by a local mechanic and that he stayed a motel for two nights. He checked out on May 28, 2013.

On June 1, 2013 the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an abandoned vehicle 20 miles west of Willits, CA on Sherwood Rd. Sherwood Rd was a wilderness rd. meaning it was mainly dirt and unpaved and stretched through the forest between Willits and Fort Bragg, CA. Deputies confirmed it was Eric Lamberg’s vehicle: the Honda Odyssey. Erik Lamberg was nowhere to be found but it appeared his Odyssey had gotten stuck in a ditch and was abandoned. Search efforts were undertaken, and search and rescue dogs picked up Erik Lamberg’s scent in both an eastern and a western direction on Sherwood Rd. but deputies did not find any sign of Lamberg.

Deputies interviewed people who frequented the road and followed up on potential sightings to no avail. His cellphone and credit cards have never been used.

Erik Lamberg was struggling with bipolar disorder and was going to Oregon in 2013 for treatment. He has a wife and 2 children who miss him dearly and are still searching for him.

Deputies issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) in 2013 to all Northern California Law Enforcement Agencies.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone who has information or might have seen Erik to contact the Sheriff’s Dispatch Center at 707-463-4086.
