Brenda Duharte was living in an apartment in the 300 block of 88th Street in Daly City. On July 24, 1982 she was doing laundry in the laundry room of the apartment complex. She had gone downstairs to move laundry into the dryer and never returned. She was found strangled in the laundry room.

Brenda was only 23 years old and she lived with her young daughter in the apartment complex. At the time she was murdered Brenda was working at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco.
